Day to day diary of a mom about her sweet little Shelties. Observations, emotions, and just plain Sheltie talking about her spoiled rotten, intelligent and loving friends. Because her human kids are grown and the little ones still at home are of the four legged kind.

Storm night
Louie was a mess on storm night, like most nights that include boomers, she was shaking. Unfortunately I had given her a close Summer cut and with the high wind and rain it turned cool. She is very afraid of storms. We watched as the inch round hail hit our cars and caused damage we have yet to report. I uploaded a photo of Lou with her papa as she watched out the back door where the rain was coming down. We all survived.

Shelti-huahua
Funny looking dog looking out the window at squirrels is Louie. She was severly shaved on Saturday but is loving it. She acts like a little puppy when she is without the heavy fur. I honestly think she jumps higher and is more cuddly with her dad and me. We love to touch her all the time too. Just like seeing a cute little kid with a buzz cut made me want to touch it. She is so cute! Today was her lucky day, I was home from work sick and it was just me and her laying around watching tv and playing. She loves when me or Gregg gets to stay home with her. Right now we are outside, she just snuck up on a little innocent squirrel and chased it into the tree near the end of our yard, near the creek. Louie knows better now and doesn't try to jump the creek running after them. She found out that she can't fly. But she can get wet and she didn't drown so that was a good lesson. It's a beautiful Spring day, about 78 degrees, the redbuds and greenery are coming out all over. I am sitting out on my rocking lawn chair that my sweetie gave me last year. He also hooked up my wireless LAN so I can sit out with Lou and do our taxes too. Happy Tax Day!

Spring shedo
Spring is here! I can tell by Louie's fur flying up my nose when I sit on the couch. She is about ready for her Spring cut. I hope they don't want to cut her like a lion. She looks hilarious with the lions mane and the cute ball on her tail. I can tell you that she hates that cut because she knows she looks stupid and that's one thing Louie is not. She absolutely is not stupid.
She will make us pay for the hair cut by making annoyed facial expressions and believe me she does have some expressions.
She knows she is smart. She flaunts her intelligence to everyone and especially to other dogs lacking in her gifts. She only acknowledges adults and ignores all dogs. She walks by them as if they were invisible. We thinks that she is human and not an animal. Maybe we are the animals to her!
